Sunsets have always been on of the most beautiful things to me. The sky and clouds and all the earth below is filled with the yellow-orange rays. But, in the last 7 months, sunsets have become a marking of direction. My north star, if you will. The sun always sets to the west. Oregon, Tigard Oregon is west of here. So now, every time I watch the sun slowly sink past the horizon, I think of home.
I just watched The Blind Side. For all who have seen this movie, you know that the Left Tackle protects the blind spots of his team mates, or their Blind Sides. I was thinking, well, wheres my Blind Side? And who’s got my back? Who’s going to cover me when I cant see whats coming? And then, I realized the answer to my own question. My friends, my family, and God. I mean, if you think about it, your support network is just like a football team, or rather, a football family. On the offence, you’ve got all of your loved ones who will stand, fight and protect you. And, on the defense you’ve got those who will get up and pick up the slack when your tired or too weak to keep playing. Its really the same with any sport. You could compare your friends and family to a volley ball team, or water polo, or even a cheer squad. Within any sport of any kind, there is always a leader, a head haunch-o. A coach. My coach is God. He calls the plays, He knows whats good and bad for me, and no matter what happens, He will always have your back. I know He has mine. Hes the man with the game plan, and you know you can trust Him. He is your coach after all.
10 days til Oregon 🙂 Goodnight
I've been thinking about things that I used to love to do back home. Across from Fred Meyers on 99 there was a Subway and a Starbucks right next to each other. My mom and I would somes grab a coffee and a sandwich before heading to Fredy's. The driveway was a crazy slope lol. One time I scraped the front bumper of my minivan on the ground because it was so steep. Haha fun times. Oh and theres this park out behind all the new develpoment that was going up behind my house. It had a cute little creek that run through to park all the way down to the Tualatin River. I used to take pictures there for photography class. It was my favorite place to go and relax. I would just listen to the trickling water in the shade of the trees. I also loved swinging at Deer Creek Elementary. I've used those swings since I was 5 🙂 That has always been my favorite place to go and swing. My most favorite thing to do, though, was to sit out on my back patio and look at the stars… Enough said 🙂 Night.
